Peggy Sue - 'The Original VTX'r
2006 Honda VTX

My first motorcycle was a 1980 Honda CM400T. In fact this was the first vehicle I ever purchased. I had never ridden a motorcycle before, and when I picked it up from the dealer I asked how to put it in reverse. I loved this bike, and Texas was a great place to ride. I put over 24,000 miles on it over the first two years that I owned it. In 1984 I married Brian. One month later my beautiful bike was totaled when Brian broad-sided someone who ran a stop sign in front of him. Luckily he was not hurt, but that was the last time anyone rode that bike.
Last year (22 years later) Brian surprised me with an old 1985 Honda V30 Magna he bought off E-Bay. Though this is a very nice bike, it just wasn't the bike for me. In February '07, Brian took me to a Honda dealer near his work just to look at some of the new bikes and see how they feel. They had an orange 2006 VTX1300C on the showroom floor (orange was discontinued on the 2007 models). The salesman was happy to pull the bike away from the others and let me sit on it. I loved how this bike looked and how it felt, but still being in school knew we were only window shopping. We went to look at what type of accessories we could get for it when Brian noticed another orange 1300C behind a banner by the sales man's desk. We went over to look, but there was a "SOLD" sign on it asking people not to sit on it. Brian then pointed out the name on the sold sign was mine, and let me know that this was a graduation gift for me. After the initial shock wore off, we signed the paperwork and had it delivered to our house the next day. I LOVE THIS BIKE. This is my dream bike that I plan to have for a very long time. We've since made the following modifications to improve the comfort and safety of this bike:
Chrome Highway Bars
1-1/2" Diameter Super Radius Handle Bars
Kuryakyn ISO Grips
Kuryakyn Chrome Wide Grip Levers
Chrome Laser Etched Master Cylinder Cover
Chrome Horn Cover
Seat Modification by Allen at Mean City Cycles (memory foam added and reshaped to move saddle lower and forward)
Bungee Buttons added to Seat Rails
Headlight Modulator and Triple Whammy Taillight Modulator
Memphis Shades Alley Cat Windshield
Custom Tank Bib (not yet installed)
Did I mention I LOVE THIS BIKE!!
