My Dad bought me a mini-bike when I was 10 years old. I rode that bike everyday after school and on the weekends until my cousins came over one day (from the city of course) and rode it all day until it started on fire. I was so sad because my Dad wouldn't fix it for me. I became a teenager and forgot about how much I enjoyed riding the mini-bike.
As I got older, my brother and brother-in-law bought Harleys and they were always going places on their bikes. I was jealous but I thought heck, I'm single and there is no way I could ride by myself. Then, I met my husband in 2006 who was a HUGE motorcycle fan. I got really excited!!! We hit it off great, bought a Harley (to ride 2up) and I was happy. I told myself I'll take the motorcycle class in a couple years. Well, that couple years turned into a couple months. I took the motorcycle class in April 2007 with my sister and brother and passed. I went straight to the Secretary of State and got my endorsement then I had the itch to get my own bike.
I was married on May 12th and bought my 92 Honda Shadow 1100 on May 14th and been having a great time ever since. I've started customizing my bike a little bit. I've added new control levers, windshield and am looking to install new handlebars and adding chrome this summer. I love the freedom, the wind in my face and the open road ahead. There is nothing like riding with friends/family with a full tank of gas and the open roads ahead. I've met a lot of new friends with my new passion and am looking forward to meeting many more friends and riding thousands of miles.
